COSME TOKYO 2018, Japan’s Largest Exhibition Specialized in Cosmetics

Makuhari Messe, where the trade fair was held, is one of the biggest convention centers in Japan. It is located in Chiba, close to Tokyo and has good public transportation connections to Tokyo.

I had the pleasure to join the 3-day COSME TOKYO 2018 trade fair and meet interesting people and companies from Japan and abroad. There were 709 exhibitors from 30 countries, they were hair salons, retailers and buyers, naturally the visitors represented the same field of business.

Visitors were especially interested in the international pavilion, which had a large number of exhibitors from European countries, also China was well represented. It was interesting to know about products from different countries and to compare them with the Japanese competing products and services.

Many international exhibitors had already taken part in the trade fair for several times and said they were sure to join the fair again in 2019. One of the international exhibitors sold 2000 sets of products at ones, a foreign shopping mall and big hotel chain had business negotiations with 350 persons each.

Surely also the 113 seminars held during three days of the COSME TOKYO Trade Fair were something to draw visitors attention, and make them take part in the fair for more than one day.
